The Village Chapel of Bald Head Island has been the Island’s focal point for worship, meditation and spiritual encouragement since it was established in 1987.  Participation in worship services and other events has increased significantly as the numbers of permanent residents and visitors to the Island have grown over the years.  The Trustees have been diligent in expanding the ministries of the Chapel to better meet the needs of this growing population.  As we look to the future, we find that one of the greatest challenges will be to grow the financial support for the ministries at a rate comparable to the growth in the need for expanded resources and activities.

Special gifts have made possible the pipe organ, the stained glass windows and other specific enhancements.  However, the Trustees sometimes find it necessary to draw upon the reserve funds that have been donated over the years to make repairs to the Chapel, provide enhancements to allow for the accommodation of a larger congregation and install equipment to benefit worshippers with special needs.

While the financial position of the Village Chapel of Bald Head Island continues to be very sound, the Trustees would ask you to prayerfully consider your level of giving as part of this ministry. We can join together as permanent residents, non-resident property owners and periodic visitors to the Island to assure that this ministry achieves its intended purpose.  This can be an important opportunity to respond to the many blessings we have experienced through the caring outreach of the Chapel as well as the unique beauty and peacefulness provided by our Island.
